1 billion-ton ultra-deep oil and gas province discovered in Tarim Oilfield

The reporter learned from the Tarim Oilfield Branch of China National Petroleum Corporation on the 20th: The Tarim Oilfield has drilled 56 100-ton wells in the Fuman Oilfield, and found out the geological laws of the oil and gas reservoirs in the Fuman region, and found a 1 billion tons. This is the largest oil exploration discovery in the Tarim Oilfield Basin in the past 10 years.

Yang Xuewen, general manager of PetroChina Tarim Oilfield, said that the main pay zone of Fuman Oilfield is buried at a depth of about 8,000 meters, which is the deepest and largest carbonate volatile oil reservoir discovered in the world so far. The Fuman Oilfield is at the forefront of the world’s development difficulty. In the past six years, the Tarim Oilfield has broken through a series of technical bottlenecks, increasing the success rate of new wells from 75% to over 95% at present, and promoting high-efficiency development of ultra-deep oil and gas in large desert areas.

Recently, good news has spread frequently in the Fuman area of the Tarim Basin. The key exploratory well in this area, Manshen 2 Well, has a drilling depth of 8470 meters and a test oil column height of 550 meters, setting the record for the deepest oil production and the highest oil column height in the large desert area of the Tarim Basin.

The Tarim Basin is the largest petroliferous basin in my country. The oil and natural gas resources with a buried depth of more than 6000 meters account for 83.2% and 63.9% of the country's total. At present, the Tarim Oilfield has built my country's largest ultra-deep oil and gas production base.
